 Founded
in August, 1974 by Wade and Steve Cooper, and joined by David
R. Scott in 1994, Cooper Enterprises, Inc. started as a steel
erection firm and has worked on numerous projects.
Before the company was formed, the officers
worked for several major construction companies throughout
the southeast which included work on power houses, paper mills,
hospitals, baseball stadiums, parking decks, hotels, motels,
dams, defense sites, tunnels, bridges and manufacturing facilities.
After starting the business, they evolved into general contracting
and have completed well over 900 projects consisting of warehouses,
office buildings, machine shops, shopping centers, garages,
churches, manufacturing facilities and auto dealerships. The
company has its own equipment, tools and crews that perform
the steel erection, carpentry and concrete work.
Cooper Enterprises, Inc. is an authorized builder
for Kirby Building Systems, one of the nations leading manufacturers
of pre-engineered steel buildings, located in Portland, Tennessee.
Cooper Enterprises, Inc. has been one of Kirby's Top Twenty
Builders for fourteen consecutive years. They have received
numerous awards for market penetration and "Building
in Excellence" awards for their design/build capabilities.
